I've heard really great things about Glow from several people, but I think this is one of the books where I'm going to have to be in the minority and say it just didn't do much for me. I only liked one character, and so many awful things happen to her. I wanted to like one of her potential love interests, but he's going to be hard to redeem. The "good" guy struck me as a "my way is the way" from the first few pages, and that immediately bothered me about him.I don't mind some dark material, but I'm one of those who likes a little light peeking through somewhere by the end, and this felt like more dark was coming all the time. I will say that the writing was engaging and descriptive. I actually felt trapped and anxious in sections, so perhaps that led to a lower rating from me as well, and anything that has me thinking "too much Lord of the Flies" is never going to get a high rating from me. I've tried reading that book many times, and I never understand why I know so many people who love it.
